Rusio’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Reminded me of a Panera, but with better food, though a more sterile environment. Walked in an tried to read the board and was immediately pushed to place an order. I saw a veggie sandwich and was told about the soup and sandwich combo so I went for that. THe veggie sandwich had a pesto that had Parmesan in it, lettuce, spinach, tomato, cukes, muenster cheese, and roasted red peppers. All of the sandwiches came on the same white fococcia bread. For soup I got the tomato basil bisque, which really could be considered more of a tomato and cheese soup. No basil flavors to be found. With the combo I guess you get a hunk of bread to mop up the remainder of the soup and a chocolate covered strawberry to top off the meal. I left satisfied, but not overwhelmed by the experience.

I can see the Panera comparison. It's probably as close as you'll get with no Panera within 500 miles. PLENTY of food for the price, and I love that they add a small dessert (usually a chocolate covered strawberry) and a slice of bread to every meal. The taste is great, but the building itself is really sterile and bland feeling. It'd be nice with any kind of theme in the decor.

I frequent this place 2 or 3 times a week. My wife and I love it. We have a picky toddler her won't eat anything and the staff always gives her a cup of blueberries that she scarfs down. I'm a heath nut and their salads are perfect for my strict diet. Love this place!

This used to be so good. Now it's just marginal. We went for lunch today and counted 17 tables that needed to be bussed. There were only 2 clean tables to choose from and this was at 2:00 in the afternoon! The prices have increased while portion size on the soup was smaller. Fruits on the salads were macerated where in the past they were fresher and intact and the salad itself was mostly lettuce today. In the past the meal included a chocolate dipped strawberry and bread, but we didn't even get those this time. I used to refer people here all the time, but now I don't think the quality, value or cleanliness are worthy of that. I probably won't go back either.

Been back several times and the changes have been disappointing. The kids running the place don't know what they are doing most of the time, the soups are greasy, and the sandwiches are stingy. I'm done trying.

Definitely not panera or zupas! I went the first week service was not good but expected since they just opened no one knew what was going on either. I went today over a year later and the exact same thing. Really disappointed. Their quality and creativity just isn't there. The floor had food all over it and they weren't busy at all. Someone could have cleaned up. Idaho falls NEEDS a good sandwich/soup shop. I wish I had money to open up my own shop. Ugh..

I really wanted to love this place. I love sandwiches and I love soup, and like salad... sometimes. Its brand new so the long line and unorganized ordering process didn't bother me. The sandwich I ordered was not the sandwich that I received, which also really didn't bother me. What bothers me is that it's another sandwich place that puts small amounts of meat on their sandwiches. I want a sandwich that is piled high with meat. I want to taste the meat, not just the lettuce and tomatoes. Their prices are very fair, but then again, I'd pay an extra 3 or 4 bucks for a sandwich that would actually fill me up. I ordered their tomato and basil soup which was decent, my wife liked it a lot more than myself. All in all, I'd recommend that you give it a try. The sandwich was tasty, just not satisfying. As a side note to the owner, please make a sandwich with turkey, ham, roast beef, pastrami, bacon and cream cheese (plus the standard optional veggies)... and fresh avocado. Call it the Aaron and you'll have a customer for life, as long as you don't skimp on the meat. Good day.

I have eaten here since they opened, since I just live around the corner and am an avid salad eater. I LOVE their salads! I have gotten each and every one, and so far the mont n berry and strawberry fields salads are my favorites. Get the poppy seed dressing and you will absolutely be pleased! The berries are delicious, the lettuce is always super fresh and the chicken is white meat and juicy too. The sandwiches are great, as far as I can tell, I have had the Cuban panini and the turkey cranberry and both were very good and satisfying, if a little skimpy on meat? My suggestion would be maybe offer an extra meat option for those who want more protein. Sure it could be more food, but it's a relatively inexpensive lunch or dinner. The staff is always really helpful and pleasant. I have eaten here at least a dozen times and have loved it each time! It is clean too (is that what the "syerile" complaint is all about? 'cause I don't get that at all) and bright. I think it's about the best answer to quick and inexpensive salads and sammies in Idaho Falls.

used to eat here a lot until I was treated so rudely I called the manager the next day. I was promised that because I was a loyal customer he would call me back with an update and some discount coupons sent to me. ..... to this day have never heard back .....I was someone who had eaten there probably 30 times since they opened and feel so slighted by the dismissal of the way I was treated I probably won't go back

Just finished lunch it was our first time there. I told the order taker it was our first time and he didn't seem to care. I had to pull information out of him about prices, specials, etc. I had the Cobb salad and clam chowder my wife had the turkey, bacon and avocado along with the tomato basil soup. My salad was a great mix of greens and other ingredients but strawberry dressing, really. The dressing choices are very limited, the clam chowder had wonderful flavor but was very thin almost broth like. My wife said her sandwich was good but had a very sweet flavor she couldn't identify and didn't seem to be on the list of ingredients, she did enjoy the soup it was thick and rich.

I was really excited for a Zupas knock off. I've been twice, and we're going back tonight, as they do seem to keep getting better. So here's a few more thoughts for the owner. I agree that the atmosphere is lacking. The first time we went, it was a Friday night, and the place was deserted (there was some big football game going on). It was freezing cold and felt like a warehouse. There were like a dozen teen staff members just milling around behind the counter, but no one knew how to turn on the lone fireplace in the center. But the biggest issue is the menu boards. They are tiny, difficult to read, and are missing key offerings. I couldn't even find the soup menus on our first visit. Come on guys, throw some huge black chalkboards up and get some nice ink pens. The current boards look like they were printed at a local print shop on poster sized board and laminated. EDIT: the menu boards have been somewhat improved. Still a little small for the size of the restaurant. I've never liked the sandwiches at Zupas, I think the ingredients are on the skimpy side, and it's no different here. Pile up that meat and cheese, and make your customers happy. My salad (a berry and nut thing) was large and good. I really like the tomato soup and that's what keeps me coming back. At Zupas you can get Orzo pasta in it and that makes it feel more like a hearty meal. Please add some kind of pasta to dress this up! Orzo would be great. The first time we went the strawberries were tiny and underripe. The second time, they were bigger and better - but both times the chocolate coating was terrible. It's like the cheap fake chocolate candy stuff you can melt to make homemade candy for the holidays. Get some REAL chocolate guys!! (The third time we went they were totally out of strawberries. Dinner hour on a Thursday night. Yeesh.) The bread slices are really skimpy, one tiny silver dollar slice the width of my index finger for an entire bowl of soup. Two at least would be better, or if they at least cut off a good sized portion - like 2 or 3 inches wide. Edit: after our third visit, I don't think we'll be back. Like another reviewer said, it's a $6 meal for $8. Feeding the whole family is just too expensive when we all still feel hungry at the end. 2/5/14 Update: I'm updating again, even though I have no idea if anyone sees these 'not recommended reviews' I gave this another chance because a friend wanted to go. I got that delicious tomato soup and the Strawberry fields salad. It was a long wait, and I was still hungry afterward, but at least the fire was on! I'll give another plea for some gluten free bread options.

    (3)
  • Clark C.

Had some bumps at first, as expected, but they are always improving. The service is a little slow, but it is professional and the food is delicious to make up for the wait. All in all a great little place!

  • Steph C.

Very, very poor service. Ordered a chicken salad and I had to remind them that chicken was included in the ingredients as they passed it along. Noticed that they were reusing mixing bowls to toss the salads in. When they got to mine, they just through the items in the salad bowl and dumped dressing on top. I didn't eat it cause the dressing was terrible. Once we finally made it to the soups, they were not labeled. No idea what soups were being offered without having to ask. My husbands panini was toasted on the outside and cold in the center. Didn't even melt the cheese.. Holy cow!!! Get organized and come up with a better solution to have the ordering process flow more smoothly. Train your staff and listen to the customers.

    (1)
  • E S.

Agree that the place has become more organized and efficient!! The ingredients were fresh and I liked the options!! Strawberry fields salad is great, chicken bacon ranch panini also delicious. Not as much of a fan of some of their soups but they let you try a taster so you know what you're in for. Definitely worth giving it a shot! However if you want piles of meat on your sandwich then gandolfo's is probably a better option, but if you want a sandwich/salad or soup combo, then I recommend Rusios.

    (5)
  • Nicole H.

Rusios just opened up in Idaho Falls about a week or two ago and I have been anxiously waiting to try it. Even though I have a favorite sandwich place in town (Great Harvest ) I thought I'd give this place a try. The atmosphere is very modern and has a big dinning room so seating is not an issue. However, the reason I gave it three stars is because they where a bit unorganized and made one of our sandwiches wrong. I understand this is a brand new place with new employees but they got my boyfriends order wrong and acted a bit confused when I substituted a condiment. The organization of the assembly line was a bit hectic and they only offer a limited selection of breads. The employees however where very friendly and helpful for the most part. I did enjoy my sandwich, but does not even compare to Great Harvest and or other Deli's around town. Unless I'm in a rush I probably wont be back.

The place looks great! Ok that is all the positives. We went there for lunch. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. It took us 45 minutes from walking in the door to get our food. When you first walk in, stand in line. If the other patrons are helpful, they might give you a menu. If not, look at the big screen TVs for sandwiches or salads. Soups, well they are clearly labeled for the staff to see, but a customer would have to ask the staff if there is actually soup in one of those containers and what it is. If you actually spent the time to get someone to tell you what soups they have today, consider yourself lucky and don't bother asking what is in them, cause they don't know. Don't bother with a Panini. You wait extra time for these, but the cheese doesn't even get melted. You might think salad is a good option...I suggest you watch all the ingredients get put in. We specifically asked whether Chicken was included in one of the salads since it was in the title, but not the list of ingredients. After being assured that, yes it does, we watched the staff make it, and guess what they didn't put in...you got it, chicken. To sum up, the place looks spectacular, but if you want good food and service go somewhere else.

Our third trip to this place. Good sandwiches, good salad, great soup. A lot of quality, healthy food for the money. But they need to get their staff better trained. They need a sign showing the entrance. And they need to get better signage throughout the store. How about a sign board which shows your soups of the day? Do drinks come with the meal? You can't tell because Thet don't really have a menu board. And the have Yogurt. No sign anywhere that says FROZEN YOGURT or what flavors....really? We are not mind readers. We will go back but I know others who will not. Too bad.

    (3)
  • Hailey B.

N-E-V-E-R again! The first time is the last time I will eat here! First of all the set-up was very unorganized-if you have never eaten here it is confusing. Plus, the staff seemed to not be completely trained. Okay that is forgivable. The food was poor at best. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado Panini how that go wrong?. The sandwich did not get put in the press long enough I guess because the cheese was un-melted and the inside of the sandwich was cold. The turkey was almost non-existent. We also ordered a Mont N' Berry salad it was okay. The prices were extremely low (I thought) I would prefer to pay more and get more of the high quality ingredients i.e. meats and cheeses. The inside of the building is new and clean but, reminds me of a large cafeteria. I simply have no desire to return here to eat. I would not recommend to a friend!

    (2)
  • Lisa C.

Exterior of the building is encouraging, but then you walk in and the disappointment starts. Menu isn't bad, but very poorly executed. Dining room is loud and feels like a badly designed cafeteria. Ordering food is completely unorganized; and presentation is terrible. We waited in line for over thirty minutes before getting a chance to order. Serving staff didn't appear to know what their roles were; and many of them stood around and did nothing despite the long line. Those that were preparing food did so haphazardly, and without any sense of urgency. I ordered the strawberry chicken salad which contained three hairs (thanks to the unkempt serving staff not wearing hair nets), and the chicken dumpling soup was dry, scraped off the bottom of the soup warmer and inedible. My husband ordered the Garnicle Panini, which wasn't bad once he finally received it. They lost the order twice and had to remake it. (The other reviewer was accurate in saying they reuse bowls to mix salads. The prep and serving line is dirty and unorganized). Clearly, the restaurant was opened by people with little to no culinary experience and limited business sense. If they hope to attract a repeat business lunch crowd, they need to deliver memorable, satisfying food in a consistent, timely fashion--and right now, they're failing miserably. I hope they are willing to listen to their reviewers and make some immediate changes, otherwise I doubt they'll be in business six months from now. Personally, I wouldn't risk a food-borne illness or waste my money again.

  • Michael B.

Was looking forward to a new place. After eating here I am not impressed. The staff didn't seem to have a clue. The serving area was disorganized. They mixed multiple salads in the same bowls. Servers were not wearing hair nets. Portions were not measured just tossed on, my salad had about twice the chicken as my girlfriends. I ordered a salad with black beans and corn. I could count the black beans on two hands. Very disappointed. Will not be back, will not recommend Rusios to anyone.

    (2)
  • Abi H.

Rusio's is one of those places I keep coming back to because of their amazing prices and good food. Especially their desserts and to-die-for chocolate chip cookie. However, the service is never great. The team seems very disorganized and you spend too much time in line. They do often give a free drink or dessert if the wait is especially long. I would hate to see this place go out of business, but the service needs a step up!

    (4)
  • Jennifer M.

I had a Cobb salad and a sandwich. I was told they were giving me the combo price which they did BUT they also charged me full price for the salad on top of the combo price! I'm not happy about how it cost for just me to eat! If I'm going to be spending $15+ on a meal just for me I'll go somewhere nice. As far as the quality of the food it was kind of meh. Could have been worse but also could have been A LOT better. I will not be back.

I like it. I would have liked to have more meat on my sandwich and it would be nice if there were more bread choices. I still enjoyed my sandwich, it was still filling even though it didn't have a lot of meat. Had a salad with strawberries and blue cheese, that was good. I may have to go back and try a panini and some soup.
